Choosing a Puppy from Rosedale Doodles: What to Expect

Choosing a puppy is an exciting decision, and knowing what to expect from your breeder can make the whole experience feel much more reassuring.

At Rosedale Doodles, we aim to make the journey as clear and supportive as possible, from reserving your puppy through to the day they come home. As experienced licensed puppy breeders, we keep families involved throughout their puppy’s early development and are always happy to answer questions along the way.

Here is what you can expect when choosing a puppy from Rosedale Doodles.

Reserving your Rosedale Doodles puppy

Our reservation process is designed to give families clarity from the beginning.

Once you have decided that a Rosedale Doodles puppy is right for you, we will guide you through the next steps and keep you informed as your puppy grows.

Every puppy is an individual, and their temperament and personality will continue to develop through a combination of inherited traits, early socialisation, upbringing and the experiences they have once they join their new family.

Our focus is therefore on raising puppies in a positive, carefully managed environment and helping families feel well informed throughout the process.

Follow your puppy’s progress with weekly pupdates

One of the most exciting parts of waiting for your puppy is watching them grow.

Families receive weekly video ‘pupdates’ from birth, giving you the opportunity to follow your puppy’s development before collection day. These videos also include time with Mum, offering a glimpse into your puppy’s early weeks and the environment in which they are being raised.

It means you can feel connected to your puppy from an early stage rather than simply waiting until the day you bring them home.

Visit your puppy at the six-week viewing

At around six weeks old, families are invited to visit and spend time with the puppies.

This is an opportunity to meet your puppy in person, see the environment they have been raised in and ask us any questions you may have.

Both Mum and Dad are also available to meet alongside the puppies at this viewing. Meeting the parent dogs can be a reassuring part of visiting a breeder and allows you to see more of the dogs behind our breeding programme.

Our dogs are part of our family and enjoy access to six acres of grounds where they have plenty of space to exercise and play.

Understand the health checks behind your puppy

Health is an important part of our breeding programme, and we take several steps to support the health and wellbeing of our dogs and puppies.

Our breeding dogs receive regular veterinary health checks. These checks are separate from the genetic testing carried out for relevant hereditary conditions.

For the recessive genetic conditions we test for, we ensure that at least one parent is genetically clear. This means puppies cannot be genetically affected by those particular tested recessive conditions, although some puppies may still be carriers.

We are happy to explain the relevant health testing behind each litter so that families understand the checks that have been carried out.

Support before and after you bring your puppy home

Choosing a responsible breeder is not only about finding a puppy; it is also about having someone you can turn to for guidance throughout the process.

At Rosedale Doodles, we want families to feel comfortable asking questions at every stage, from the initial reservation through to preparing for collection.

Whether you are considering a Cockapoo, Cavapoo or Cavapoochon, our aim is to make choosing your puppy a positive, transparent and reassuring experience.

By keeping you updated, welcoming you for a six-week viewing, explaining our health testing and offering ongoing support, we hope to give you confidence at every stage of welcoming your new puppy into your family.
